Study Tour to the 2011
Tohoku Earthquake Disaster-affected Area
Sendai Coast was severely affected by the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011. The day of the study tour is the seventh year’s anniversary of the disaster. Sendai City has preserved some of the buildings which were damaged by the disaster so that the world can learn what really happened there. We are offering this half-day bus tour as one of the WRDM pre-events. We encourage everyone to participate in this tour, and look forward to sharing valuable experiences, including a memorial gathering to be held in the coastal community at 14:46, the time of the earthquake occurred seven years ago.
